The Power of Saying “No”!

“The most powerful word in our Time Management vocabulary is NO.” - Anonymous

What do you think? I absolutely think this is true!  Our time is built around our commitments, so if we make too many commitments, what happens?  We run out of time!

We ultimately make the decisions on what we do, where we go, and how much we can take on…It’s easy to feel guilty and want to say yes to everything, but in our busy realities, you will be better off saying no!

This is hard for many of us… I know!  I am one of those people too!  However, I have learned the hard way, when you give yourself a little more “Free Time” and not surround yourself with too many commitments, not only are you happier… but so are the people you live with!

Here are a few examples on how to say “No”, in a nice and easy manner!

  • Thank you for thinking of me, but at this time my schedule does not allow any extra activities.
  • I am just not available right now, thank you anyway.
  • No, Thank you!  Plain and simple!

If you need time to think about whether taking on a new project is a good idea, ask for the time.. Never feel pressured in making a decision right then and there! Take the time to think about it, talk with others, do whatever you need to do, to make the right decision for you!

Happy Organizing!
